DraftLens does not scan the internet, academic repositories, or commercial plagiarism databases. We offer a free, local two-text similarity checker instead. It compares only the passages you provide.
What you can do here
Paste your draft and a source passage to find shared five-word phrases. Compare two revisions to see where wording overlaps. All computation happens in your browser, and highlighted matches come directly from the supplied texts. No source URLs or publication records are invented.
What a percentage cannot tell you
An overlap percentage does not show whether a quotation is properly attributed or whether an idea was borrowed without acknowledgment. A low result cannot certify originality, and a high result does not automatically establish plagiarism. Our method can miss paraphrases and legitimate matches can include required terminology.
When you need broader checking
Use an institution-approved service with documented, licensed coverage when your workflow requires comparison against an external corpus. Review privacy and retention before submitting confidential work. Even database-backed results require a human to examine attribution and context.
